Since its creation, the empowerment of young people by young people is at the heart of CliMates action.
Young people are on the front lines of dealing with the consequences of increasing carbon emissions and the resulting intensification of climate change. Within CliMates, the Mobilization / Empowerment Pole aims to give the climate generation the necessary capacities and tools to take ownership of the issues related to climate change in order to become agents of change .
Our mission is to raise awareness and engage young people to preserve the climate and biodiversity by helping to make environmental issues visible to as many people as possible, locally and internationally, and to provide appropriate solutions. We are committed to helping young people take action to protect the future of our planet by making their voices heard more on the climate crisis and encouraging their participation in the fight against climate change.
The 5 stages of action :
Thanks to its international community, CliMates is able to reach various territories and communities, impacted differently by climate effects, in which it campaigns for the transition to a low-carbon society by promoting local actions.
CliMates participates in numerous awareness raising events around the world (workshops, conferences) and at the same time develops participatory and innovative tools disseminated by the Mobilization Pole. One of the flagship levers of action is capacity building and the engagement of young people through simulations of climate scenarios in the form of interactive games such as COP in My City, HeatWave: My city strikes back or Innov'City.
These participatory projects aim to raise awareness of the challenges of climate change; to inform, raise awareness and mobilize on diverse subjects, such as solidarity, gender or the sustainable city; and to be a catalyst for young people to engage and act at their level.
